Yay! A scarf finished for our knitting project. I have started listening to audiobooks while knitting. By now I have listened through The Three Musketeers (Alexandre Dumas).
I felt inspired this weekend to create something new of an old cd. My scissors are not that sharp, so I had difficulties cutting out pieces.
I first thought about making earrings, but later I just didn't fancy the idea that much. When looking at my white board I realized it would be cool with some new magnets.
You can see the result in the pictures. I think it's nice that the cut out pieces look purple (I have not added any kind of colour). The pieces come from the shiny underside of a cd.
Go here if you want to see some art made from waste CDs and DVDs.
Want to know how to create these little fellows? Go here.
Edit. My oldest little sister told me that my ghosts look like KKK. :( Obviously that was not my intention. It's not my fault that a bunch of hateful people like to have costume parties, where they dress up looking like white ghosts.
This little pink fellow has many names. Recovery friend. Pillow monster. Anxiety monster. Anxiety friend.
If you are in a state of anxiety or stress, it can be helpful to have someone or something to hug. Basically, the recovery friend is for hugging. The recovery friend is your friend against anxiety, fear and loneliness.
Lola is now adopted by a friend of mine who is recovering.
I'm on my final semester in social work, and taking the course Social Work as mobilisation and entrepreneurship. This course is about projects related to social work and social enterprises. My project group is creating a podcast, or not so much creating it. We are planning to create it, which is what the course is about: to write a project plan. That's as far as it goes. This course has got me thinking that maybe I could create a little project of my own. I would love to combine creativity with social work. Recovery friends for people with mental ill-health. Let's see where it goes, shall we?
Left the house one weekend for somebody else’s place. When I got home on Sunday I discovered my mistake. No one had the time to wash the dishes in the sink, so they had just been left there and they made the whole house stink.
I won’t go into details, but when I looked in a pot, a triple walk of star trek almost made me die of shock...
An ice-cream box was sitting there and I smelled something scary. A drivel lifted from its place when out jumped something hairy. It landed in the sink next to a bowl of something gross. I found it difficult deciding which I hated the most. Scientists are looking for this sort of life on earth. They now attempt to recreate a protoplasmic birth, when they could just as easily come over any day and I’ll be pleased to show them our primordial sufflé. Uuuh.
It’s been about 5 hours since I started on this chore. I got some dishes left but I’m not washing anymore. The lesson I’ve learnt from my experience today is always wash the dishes right before you go away.
