Marbled card with birds from a magazine The round, golden green frame is decorated with four different stitches: zig zag stitches, straight stitches, heart stitches and apple stitches (machine seams). I found most of my images in magazines. I found some of my images here though. The background is marbled. I love paper marbling. Sunny Sunday
The background of this card has been painted in three different layers: first a layer with orange paint, then a layer of crackle glaze and finally a layer of light blue paint. (It's important to let the different layers dry if you want to get a crackle effect.) For the outer frame I've used blue paper which I've covered with orange lace from an old dress I used to wear. The scallops have been cut out by hand. I usually create my scalloped edges, by using a glue stick, pencil and a pair of small scissors. I put the cap of the glue stick on a paper and move my pencil around the cap and draw a half circle. Then I create my next half circle beside the previous half circle, and repeat the process until I have enough of half circles in a row. Finally I cut the paper, by following the points of the half circles. The origami pieces are upcycled from an old map. You can find a tutorial for the origami jumper here and the origami hat here. I have found the Hello Sunshine-image here. I am entering this card into the following challenges: Upcycle/recycle Color Inspiration #150 PDC145 Challenge #97 Add some Lace Travel #201 Summer |

La di dots
Let's hang out (card with lots of dots/circles) For this card I used a potholder as a template. Look around you and you will notice that there are many things which could work as a card template. I used embossed paper for the dresses and the circles. I painted yellow and purple dots on the dresses. Here's how to make an origami dress: yes here I found the images for my card here: butterfly and let's hang out. Sew sweet Amanda
Seamstress card For my background I used the splatter technique. I found some sewing-themed images here and here. You can find a template of the little girl in my card here. I am entering this card into the following challenges: |
Watercolour palette
A colour palette card (there are probably lots of them out there?!) It's also a LGBT card, or LGBTQ card.
It was really simple making this one. I just cut out different sized circles in different colours. Some circles are made of embossed paper, which I have ordered through Etsy. The heart was found in a magazine of some sort, but you could probably find fancier rainbowy hearts out there on the internet. Or make one. :)

Singing colours
One day I felt inspired to draw pictures. I drew a little red-haired girl which I later saved for future use. When I decided to make a card with my little redhead cartoon, I figured she should be accompanied by someone who means a lot to her: her teddy. I didn't manage to draw a teddy-bear by myself, so I found this little sketch which I used as a template. I painted the teddy with acrylic paint (the same paint which I used for the red-haired girl). For my background I used the splatter technique. |
