A taste of Christmas

It's the last day of Creepmas at Smeared and Smudged. So sorry for the delay once again.

Interpret the above image as you like. Hehe. It's a digital card portraying some of my sad felt dolls. (Or actually they have a happy side too.) I'm busy finishing one of my Christmas gifts (that is the blonde doll, which was nearly headless yesterday hehe).

I have some Creepmas projects left which I never got around to post... but I can take that some other time. I forgot to post Molly in a Creepmas version though, so I will add her here (if anyone wants her). Merry Creepmas!

Merry Creepmas and Christmas to you all!

Sunday 22 December 2013

A star boy

As a kid I wanted to be a cop... until one day someone (a grown-up) told me I couldn't. So, I gave up that dream.

Then when I learned to write, writing became my main hobby. For 10 years I dreamed of becoming a writer... until one day someone (also a grown-up) told me I would never become one. So, I gave up that dream too.

I think that no one should ever tell a child that their dreams are wrong or not possible. That's why I'm so eager to tell children that they can be whatever they want to be. If boys want to play princesses, or girls want to play pirates, I will them: "Go for it."

Just like there are boys who dream about becoming princesses, there are boys (especially in the Nordic countries) who dream about becoming Saint Lucy for a day.

Here's a Saint Lucy choir from 2011, where a boy/man finally got to be Lucy. I think he is doing a great job.

Just like there are boys who want to be Lucy, there are girls who want to be Star Boys. So, I have made my digital stamp Molly into a Star Boy this time. Here she is celebrating the month of December as a Star Boy. (Or actually I have Molly in a Creepmas version, but I never got around to post it.)

Ps. If anyone wants Molly as a star boy, here she is. :)  ->

Time travel Santa

I feel very uninspired at this point. I just don't like Christmas anymore. I want it to disappear already. It's like the war of Christmas at home. So, I called out the transphobes/queerphobes in my extended family, and woah... I had opened the Pandora's box. I'm really considering skipping next Christmas. Hopefully I could spend it in a soup-kitchen or something (you have to sign up months before though, and that's probably because we really don't have that many soup-kitchens in this country...).

Anyhow, it is Creepmas day 11 after all... so, here's my project for today. Another card. Duuh.

I messed up a little (or a lot?) with the acrylic paint, so some details aren't that visible. Other than acrylic paint, I have coloured the images with Promarkers and some Stickles too.

I have used Stickles: Starry Night & Waterfall for the background.

The Steampunk Santa can be found here, while the mad eyes (which I made a moon out of) can be purchased here

Hello deer

It's time for Creepmas day 8!

Today I'm featuring a card with a digital stamp by the amazingly talented Unky at The East Wind. Unky has lots of different images, including a cool Creepmas image here (which I'm thinking of doing something with later). For today I've chosen an emo girl with horns, cause I think it really catches the spirit of Creepmas. :)

Card recipe
*Acrylic paint (Traditional Craft Paint): red, green, white
*Digital Stamp: Emo Girl by Unky
*Creepmas sentiment: Merry Creepmas by Delicious Doodles
*Christmas Ornaments: Vintriga Pysselboken 2013

Krampus is coming...

Hello and welcome to Creepmas day 7 - yay. Today is a Smeared Ink day.

Today is also Lucia, so "Happy Lucia!" - if you celebrate it. It's a big tradition here in Sweden. So for a whole day we celebrate a holy woman, with music in the schools and churches. It's very beautiful.

I have used Ghouly Witch and Hand of St. Nick by Smeared Ink.

My main idea for this card is that Santa has been murdered by no other than his infamous twin Krampus. -> Krampus is blissfully unaware of what's lurking behind. Perhaps you can guess what that is...

It's hard to tell who's most evil: Krampus or... Zombie Santa?

In the book The Claus Effect  (1997) by David Nickel and Karl Schroeder, Krampus is on the side of good and Santa is a deranged monster. Hehe.

Card recipe
I've used lots of Stickles: Frosted Lace for the snow.
For the mountain tops I've used Stickles: Mystic Green and some Frosted Lace too.
The red ribbon with stars comes from the local haberdasher (Ronny's symaskiner).

Christmess

Hello and welcome to Creepmas day 6!

Sorry for the blurry and unclear photo.

I have used a a digital stamp by Rick St Dennis, named Creepmas Mourning. The paper comes from F.T and the red poinsetta from Pysselmakaren. The red bow was found in an ad magazine.

I made this Creepmas card for my big sister. The title reads "We don't want a stupid plastic tree" because of what happened before Christmas 2 years ago. My oldest little sister and I were determined to get a real Christmas tree that year, and our older sister were with us from the start. We went with mum to town, with the goal to get a real Christmas tree. After an hour, our big sister realized that it wouldn't be problem-free to get a tree, so she changed her mind. She told our mum that we had gone to town only to get a Christmas tree. Mum got mad and said: "No, now we go home. I don't want a stupid Christmas tree." At that point, my little sister C. had already bought a nice red Christmas stand.

We got into the car and were trying to persuade mum to go to the tree plantation, where they were selling Christmas trees. Mum said that we would now leave town, so C. got so mad that she opened the car door (while we were driving) and jumped out. I realized that it wouldn't be any Christmas peace at home unless I tried to help C. with her Christmas tree mission. I asked mum to let me off and she did. Then I ran after C. who was already far away. Then we went by foot 2 km to the tree plantation. When we had finally bought our Christmas tree, we went back to town (also by foot). We tried to get a ride home from there (30 km), but ended up having to take the Christmas tree with us on the bus. The bus driver told us that we had to take "our friend" in the trunk lid. Lol. The drive home went fine though, and eventually we reached home with our Christmas tree.

So, the card is about that story. The idea is that my oldest little sister C. and I come back as angry zombies and vandalize the stupid plastic tree. Hehe. Mum asked if the card was not for her, but I thought it suited my big sister just as fine. Not that I hold a grudge, although we did call her "a traitor" back then. Lol. I just think it's a funny story that I wanted to make a Christmas card about.

Bah Humbug

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes. :) My birthday yesterday was the best one I have ever had. My sister got home from France, and I didn't even know that she would. So when I got home from town, and opened the door, she stood there. :) I thought I was dreaming. Lol. My other two sisters got home too, so we had a sister evening.

Here's a quick post from me today. It's the 4:th day of Creepmas at Smeared and Smudged. Since today is also a Smeared Ink day, I've used a digital stamp from there, named the Cranium Witch Digi

Not acceptable

Some days ago, WordArt Wednesday censored me when I had created a LGBTQ-friendly card. When I've looked around I have found that one of the team members is no stranger of hating on thy neighbour. I would advise you not to read that cause it's vile. If you know European history, you will find that the  fundamentalists during the Nazi Regime resonated that exact same way. They ended up imprisoning 100 000 LGBTQ-people.

We must not forget our history. I think the people at WordArt Wednesday should be brutally honest with themselves why the fact that the Nazis - the undisputed evil doers of all time - oppressed gays using the same rationale that is being used today by this particular WordArt Wednesday member.

Personally I can not accept this. Nor respect this. Therefore I will boycott Word Art Wednesday from now on.

We know what silence leads to. It leads to oppression of people. And even murder. Therefore I won't be quiet, no matter how uncomfortable some people find this to be. My people have already been through this. They have been bloody murdered. NOT ACCEPTABLE.

And don't even bother to talk about how much you love my people or your people. You don't. If you did, you wouldn't oppress people for Christ's sake.

I need You to listen. I need You to answer.

Merry Grinchmas

It's now time for day 3 of Creepmas at Smeared and Smudged.

So, here's my Creepmas project for today.

I have created most elements myself, except for the font in my sentiment - that is the Gigi font.

I drew the grinch/zombie on my computer. I made some parts by hand, like the nose and mouth. I then coloured the grinch/zombie image with white, red and green acrylic paint. As a final touch, I used glitter nail polish: Essence colour & go - Space Queen.

Zombie/Grinch/I don't know (freebie)
Christmas/Creepmas bats
(freebie
)
Creepmas paper freebie

Something red (freebie)
Can you guess what the last image is of...?
Well, I took a photo of the material of the living room sofa. And I thought the photo turned out pretty cool, when I changed the lighting and colours. Hehe. (Yes, I'm weird.)

And what else... I'm turning 25 years tomorrow. Lol.
