Wooden beads - painted with acrylic paint and nail polish. 

I painted the wooden beads with acrylic paint. Then I used a top coat clear nail polish as a final coat to give the beads a shiny look. I brushed some of the beads with a glitter top coat nail polish instead of a clear nail polish.

Terrible storm

A while ago I found some transparent glass pendants in a crafts-supplies-store. My first idea was to cover them with fabric, like I did here. Then I realized I could might as well use big buttons if I wanted to make some fabric-covered pendants. Therefore I decided to do something else of the glass pendants I had. Since I like to paint things with nail polish (and sometimes myself too), I thought nail polish would be the perfect match for my glass pendants. 

The motives are supposed to be trees (not sure if that's perceptible). I felt inspired by this painting that my youngest sister once made for me. 

The Brightest Crayon in The Box

Here's my first weaving project. 

I like the  bright and bold colours - including pink, navy blue, turquoise and purple. The white balances the brights.

  

I find weaving to be fun and easy.  

I like to see how the woven fabric grows and grows on the loom.  

Weaving reminds me of knitting. Both knitting and weaving is about producing a two-dimensional fabric made from a one-dimensional yarn or thread.  

I often enter a meditative state while weaving or knitting. It's very relaxing to me, and brings me back into balance.

Time for some trashion fashion! 

Here's a paper towel roll bracelet/toilet roll bracelet that I've made. It's easy peasy to make. My bracelet is made out of a cardboard tube, white glue, a waste cd, aluminum foil and small grey beads. You can create this kind of bracelet in some different ways. The other day I decided to create something out of a bunch of beads, which I have had for like ages. I threaded the beads on three separate strings, and made three simple bracelets. Then I twined them all together. That's what you can see in the photos.

                                                                     

I wanted to make a pair of matching earrings. I started by painting some wooden beads with nail polish in a gold colour. (I like to paint with nail polish, because I think the colours are rich and vibrant. I have painted cards with nail polish before.)

Once the nail polish had dried, I threaded the wooden beads and some other beads on a piece of wire. I gripped the end of the wire with round tongs, and bent it to fit into the loop of a pendant. Then it was finished and looked like the earring in the photo to the left. :)

Cup of creativity

The bracelets at the top are made of wire spirals and pearls. In order to make a wire bracelet you need wire, a pair of tongs and pearls. You can find wire spirals in the crafts store, so you don't have to shape the wire yourself. However you have to shape the ends with a pair of tongs (otherwise all the pearls will fall off).

The bracelet at the bottom is made of a long, thin band which I have braided. I have then sewed on some pearls.

Lost at sea

Here's another sea glass object of mine. Basically it's a diadem, which I've decorated with a lot of small pieces of colourful sea glass (and loads of glue).

Sailing over wave and tide oh ho ho.

Fantastic waves against our sides oh ho ho.

And I'm not so afraid.

Lost at sea, as I should be.

Wildflowers

When I made this necklace, I was inspired by Emma's necklaces in Glee. The flower is made of textile and cut out from a candle ring. The rest is beads you find in the craft store or toy store.

The idea behind this ring is the flower ring which Robin Hood gave Maid Marian in the Disney's Robin Hood movie.

I cut out the flowers from a candle ring. Then I painted them slightly purple and glued a pearl as a final touch.
