Peach, love and harmony

Here's another card that I have made with the Funky Hipster Vintage Girl with feather hat by the amazing Unky

I have made the background out of Diamond Stickles. The different ribbons come from Panduro and Pysselmakaren.

I have painted the dress with peach coloured nail polish. For the hair ornament I have used some orange and red nail polish. The skin and hair were coloured with Promarkers.

Ps. I have submitted this card to:

  12. Hiya Wiola, what a gorgeous card. Love the image and the creative way you've used the nail varnish...I would never have thought to use that to colour the dress and hair ornament. I feel very embarrassed that I have joined in with a challenge at word art Wednesday. I really didn't realise that they have bigots on their site. I am very sorry and I do feel sick that maybe you will think I agree with their ideas.

    1. Hi Sue! :) Thank you for your comment! I'm glad to hear that you like my card. But please don't feel bad about having joined in there at Word Art Wednesday. I used to participate there too… until I learned by my own experiences about their stance on LGBTQ-issues. I didn’t put the notice about W.A.W. in my side-bar to shame people who have participated in their challenges. My intention was/is to spread awareness of what W.A.W. stands for. I don’t think most people who participate in Word Art Wednesday challenges would want to be associated with them, if they knew about their discriminatory practices.

On the other hand, I have also learned that many of the sponsors of W.A.W. take the coward’s way out and think that Word Art Wednesday's beliefs must be respected. That’s why I wrote: “Our kids deserve better than... grown-ups who don't dare to confront the bullies.” Apparently several sponsors think that a faulty interpretation of a badly translated holy book must be respected. I have no understanding for that kind of reasoning. It’s what my mother would call bullshit. I don't agree that beliefs which discriminate people should ever be respected. It’s very clear to me that people of whatever faith have no monopoly on basic human decency. They should stop acting as if they did.

(I got positive feed-back from one of their sponsors, who told me what she didn’t know that W.A.W. discriminate people and she would immediately stop sponsoring them.)

  14. so lovely!
I'm very happy that you take part at the Cards and More Challenge. To participate in the draw of the prize and the Top 3, you have to follow the challenge rules. Unfortunately, you have linked more than 5 challenges and can not take part in the draw this time. I am so sorry. I would be delighted if you join in again next time :-)
